I see the Slate-colored subspecies, which looks like a completely different bird in terms of plumage. I had to give up backyard birding, as we ended up with other rodents crawling into the house. But I see them sometimes in the forest, and usually in the winter time in our area. I used a 150mm lens with the sun directly behind me.
