I hadn't planned on taking a bird walk into work this morning, but as I approached the office I could hear and see all kinds of bird activity in the trees surrounding the Avimor Town Lakes. I had to check them out. I was surprised by the variety of birds in this small area amongst still immature trees and shrubs:
Western Kingbird - three immatures actively catching bugs and fighting with each other
Black-headed Grosbeak
Lazuli Bunting
Lark Sparrows
Bullock's Orioles
Cedar Waxwing
Black-chinned Hummingbird
House Finch
Bank & Barn Swallows
Mourning Dove
American Robin
Ring-necked Pheasant and California Quail calling from the slope across the street
