Song Sparrows are so commonly seen year-round that I often make of note of their presence, but don't spend a lot of time looking at them. They are actually a very handsome sparrow and their songs are really enjoyable. I've found that they are the most responsive bird to pishing and even respond to the calls of many other birds when played on my Zune MP3 player using birdJam. They are a very well studied bird and All About Birds has a load of cool facts about Song Sparrows.
He turned to give you his "better" side on the second photo. A cute little songbird, indeed!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about Song Sparrows. I see them virtually every day, but still always take a moment to watch them. I will also never tire from hearing their song.
