Gilbert Water Ranch: Random Bird Photos

White-crowned Sparrow
probably gambelii subspecies base on light-colored lores
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
only my 4th ever sighting
Black-necked Stilt
Least Sandpipers
Northern Mockingbird
Northern Pintail

  1. Excellent set of pictures of many birds I'm not gonna see over it. The northern pintail is over here but very few individuals. It is only located at certain part of the country but I was lucky enough to see it in Reykjavik last year....

  2. Robert, these photos are great. I'm working on an scientific paper on conservation planning, and wanted to include a particular photo from your site. Would you please grant me the right to do so?

Please let me know. My contact info is on my website:

  3. Love that little White-crowned Sparrow--this winter they have been absent from my yard :-( and...I can hardly wait for the Blue-gray gnatcatchers to return to our area!

...also...congrats on your lifer in the previous post...exciting!

  4. Looks like your trip here was very profitable as far as birds are concerned!
