Although southern Idaho has the Snake River running across it, most of southern Idaho is desert. A string of desert reservoirs including Mountain Home Reservoir, Indian Creek Reservoir, and Black's Creek Reservoir is very inviting for shorebirds in spring and fall migration as well as for birders who love to see them.
I have a brother recently stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base and I am delighted at the prospects of visiting him and his family, as well as the birding hotspots along the way!
