Birds of Puerto Rico

Sunrise with a Royal Tern
From PuertoRico
With life getting a bit crazy, preparing for our biggest move yet, job change, selling and buying a house in Vermont, I have sad to say not been out much birding.  Pleased to say our (fingers-crossed) upcoming new house has Kestrels on the streets around it and Killdeer in the fields.  I wanted to put up some photos of a trip to Puerto Rico from two years ago my wife and I made.  The photo quality not as good, as it is an older camera but some amazing birds.  Many birds are familiar as the isle is a stopover or breeding ground in the spring and summer.  Some are native to the local area only.

  10. Thanks Cindy, Julie and Hm. We have gone a few times off season (cheaper) and stayed in the northeast part of island - the Gran Melia resort, just north of the El Junque rainforest - great spot
