It's May. Bring on the Birds!

Here are some digiscoped images of birds from my patch over the last few days using the Swarovski ATX 85mm scope and handheld iPhone 4s. Every day I seem to be adding new first-of-year (FOY) birds right in my very own patch.

Can you name all the birds shown in this post?
Now I'm expecting Bullock's Orioles, Black-headed Grosbeaks, and migrating Wilson's Warblers. What are you seeing in your patches now? and what are you expecting any day to arrive?

  1. The treat for me today, thanks to some fellow birders, was a Golden-winged Warbler. Also, Hooded, Wilson's and Blue-winged.
Several Red-headed Woodpeckers. Northern Mockingbird. White-eyed Vireo, Blue-headed Vireo, Warbling Vireo. The other day, Yellow-throated Vireo.
Henslow's Sparrow, Grasshopper Sparrow (I didn't see it).
It was a fantastic day today!
There was a female Painted Bunting at the Pelee Wings Store feeders and for about a week, a Blue Grosbeak at Ojibway Nature Centre in Windsor, Ontario. Both way out of their range.
    Birding IS Fun!!!

  3. It's a very exciting time of the year! Stunning photographs of so many beautiful birds! I recently spotted a Black-throated Blue Warbler. American Redstarts, Yellow Warblers, Nashville and Black and White Warblers. Veeries, Swainson's and Wood Thrushes. Can't wait to see my first RT Hummingbird, Magnolia Warbler and Scarlet Tanager.
