210 in 2010: eBird Idaho - We have a winner!!!

Congratulations to J. Harry Krueger of Boise for being the first eBirder in Idaho to see 210 bird species in Idaho in 2010!!!

Harry accomplished this feat on Thursday, May 7th with a Yellow-breasted Chat seen at Jack's Creek.

Its not hard to tell its Harry driving down the street in his 1974 Volkswagon Bug decked out in Boise State blue and orange.  He claims to be a super dedicated Bronco fan, but once confronted with the dilemma of chasing a rare Idaho bird or going to a BSU football game...he got the bird.  Harry does get a little OCD with birding competitions, so he hopes that I won't push any more until he can rest and his family can have him back for awhile.

Much kudos to the other Idaho eBirders who raced to the end and pushed harder to see more Idaho birds so far this year.  I know of several folks in the top ten who were really gunning for it!  Thank you all for using eBird and I hope you will continue to do so for the sake of science, other birders, and of course for the sake of the birds themselves!

Remember, the 210 in 2010 competition is not over yet.  We've only completed part one.  Part two is to see who can submit the most eBird checklists by the 210th day of the year, which is July 29th.
