Colorful Backyard Birding

When you look out on your feeder and see this, you know it going to be a great day!
Add in some Cassin's Finches for some red...
...some Lesser Goldfinches for some yellow...
...And some orange and black and white...
Okay, black and white gets a little love too. And all of this within about 15 minutes in the backyard!

  5. Very cool! This time of year I'm getting mostly Song Sparrows and Spotted Towhees- not too much coloring.

  6. @NatureFootstep - Indeed it is easy to long for birds that are not common in the areas in which we live. I see all those central american species and wish I was there. But when I step back and look at the amazing birds I get in my backyard, I can't really complain.

@Julie G. - you got it! It is a delight to have those birds in the backyard.

@Cynthia - I was amazed to get that assortment in such a short period of time.

@Mike B - You know, now that you mention it, I never get Song Sparrows at my feeder. I have had Spotted Towhees a couple of times. Those are cool birds too!
