Review: A Murder of Crows

Jan Dunlap has done it again...another page-turner featuring the endearing birder Bob White who just keeps stumbling into murder mysteries. I really enjoy these books. I read this one in pretty much one sitting. The recurring characters are charming. Each chapter ends with a cliffhanger successfully demanding the reader to continue. Dunlap so craftily leads us through multiple possibilities of who-done-it that you are driven to read the book to its conclusion so that the knot in your stomach can be untied. It is so fun to see respectably people that are birders portrayed as main characters, be it in books or movies. These books would make great movies by the way.

This book is listed for $14.95, but sales for $7.95 as a Kindle purchase. But that's not all! For a limited time you can get it for FREE on Kindle. I must warn you, that reading this book will make you go back and read the past murder mysteries that birder Bob White has helped solve.

From the publisher:
With wind farms and turbines making news in birding circles, A Murder of Crows is Bob White’s most topical and entertaining Birder Murder Mystery yet! After finding fellow birder and conservation advocate Sonny Delite dead amidst the October leaves at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, Bob embarks on a hunt for a killer and a Ferruginous Hawk. Download your FREE Kindle copy today and join Bob’s growing flock of fans!

I am delighted that the author, Jan Dunlap herself, provided me a review copy of her last two books. I've always loved a good murder mystery, and one that involves a birder...perfection! I wholeheartedly recommend "A Murder of Crows".

  1. Thanks for the recommendation, Robert. It's just what I needed right now, a good excuse to put aside some boring housekeeping tasks. I am going to start reading it tonight.

  3. Oh, Robert. Any chance you get commission when I now will have to buy a Kindle? Just downloaded the book, but don't want to read it on my big screen nor my tiny mobile ...

    1. I wish I got commissions for any sales generated from this website. That would be great! I think Amazon's associates program stopped working with Blogger for some reason. Oh well. Happy reading! My wife has a Kindle Fire and loves it. I have the Kindle app on my iPhone and I don't mind reading books on it. I do have a very hard time reading books on my desktop or laptop computer though.
